My Word for 2023 – AWE

My Word for 2023 – AWE

As 2022 comes to a close, there is much to be grateful for. A beautiful family, filled with a dad and mom who are still with us at 98 and 96, siblings and their families so ever present, the best hubs ever, three amazing daughters, a son-in-law and a new granddaughter. Add to that great clients that I am blessed to work with and also call friends. Topped off with good health, for which I am eternally thankful. Jon Gordon encourages us to select a word, one word that drives us and guides us through the year. As I thought about my word for 2023, I thought about the number of trips I have experienced around sun. It would be easy to take things for granted or get complacent.

The word that found me for 2023 is awe.

As we get older (and when I say we, I mean me), we want to always find the joy, the excitement, the fascination of the people and places around us. For 2023, and I suppose beyond, I want to bring awe and find awe in everything I do. I want to be awed by life, by love, by the beauty of the outdoors, by the work I get to do, by God’s grace, and everything in between. I never want to get complacent or stuck in how I show up. I want to see awe in my daughters’ journeys, my husband’s day and in the world around me. It may not always be present but I will look for ways to to bring it out.

My hope is to embrace awe and share it… wherever I can!  May opportunities for your own awe surround you in 2023!
